Xero MCP Server Setup Guide

Prerequisites

1. Node.js: Ensure you have Node.js (v18 or higher) installed.
2. Package Manager: Have either npm or pnpm installed.
3. Xero Developer Account: Obtain API credentials by setting up a Xero developer account.

Configuring Your Xero Developer Account

1. Set up a Custom Connection by following the instructions at: Xero Custom Connections Guide.
2. Ensure the following scopes are included:
   • accounting.transactions
   • accounting.contacts
   • accounting.settings.read

Installation

Using npm

Run a Build

Using npm

npm run build

Integrating with Claude Desktop

1. Navigate to Settings > Developer > Edit config in Claude Desktop.
2. Add the following configuration to your claude_desktop_config.json file:
